In case you missed it, the 90th annual Oscars were held last night, and host Jimmy Kimmel giving away a jet ski was but one of several fairly cool awards surprises of the night. Legends Gary Oldman and cinematographer Roger Deakins finally corrected the longstanding issue that they somehow didn’t yet have Oscars. Coco composer Robert Lopez became the first person to ever accomplish a double EGOT (as Whoopi Golderberg once professed on 30 Rock, Daytime Emmys count). Jordan Peele became the first black writer to ever take home an Academy Award for an original screenplay. Kobe Bryant also won an Oscar, yet more evidence of the surreal, broken timeline we’ve strayed into. And, yes, it was made official: the best picture of the year was the one where a lady fucks a fish-man. About time, huh?
