After catching Lowlife at Chicago’s Cinepocalypse festival last year, we were the dissenting minority left unimpressed by Ryan Prows’s debut feature, calling it “a tardy, unabashed xerox of any number of more successful Tarantino copycats [that’s] not nearly as cute and clever as it thinks it is.” But hey, a lot of other people seemed to like it, so preemptively judge for yourself with this first trailer. You can see whether Lowlife is a fun Pulp Fiction update or just smugly self-satisfied when it arrives in theaters and on-demand April 6.
