It’s a rough, timely, Tinder-y Bonnie & Clyde in the Queen & Slim trailer

Queen & Slim: what could have been a promising woman-targeted cigarette in the ’80s is now a promising film. Written by Lena Waithe and directed by Melina Matsoukas—both having worked on Master of None—the film sees Get Out’s Daniel Kaluuya (Slim) and Nightflyer’s Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen) as a couple whose pleasant first date turns horribly fucked. Pulled over by a violent, racist cop, Slim ends up shooting him, sending the two on the run in a timely, Tinder-y, Bonnie & Clyde scenario.

But, hey, those Wes Anderson-style titles look fun!

Anyway, we’ll see how this plays out when Queen & Slim hits theaters November 27.
