Cate Blanchett gets gone in Richard Linklater’s Where’d You Go, Bernadette trailer

Richard Linklater’s latest is here, and it’s the Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? of midlife crisis dramedies.

Based on the bestselling novel, Where’d You Go, Bernadette sees Cate Blanchett in the titular role—and seemingly constructed at random from the first few pages of the dictionary. She’s an agoraphobic architect about to go to Antarctica when, as the title suggests, she abruptly takes off, like a bat out of a residential bathroom window. Her disappearance sends her husband (Billy Crudup) and teenage daughter (Emma Nelson) on a mission to find her. Comedy ringers Kristen Wiig, James Urbaniak, and Judy Greer costar alongside Laurence Fishburne, Zoë Chao, and Troian Bellisario.

The hunt for Blanchett’s bob hits theaters March 22.
