Gelflings are back in Netflix’s The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance trailer

More than 35 years since The Dark Crystal hit theaters, and well over a decade since development first began on a follow-up, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is finally hitting screens this summer. It hits Netflix August 30, with a massive, eclectic voice cast that includes Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy, Nathalie Emmanuel, Helena Bonham-Carter, Natalie Dormer, Eddie Izzard, Keegan-Michael Key, Simon Pegg, Andy Samberg, Toby Jones, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mark Strong, Alicia Vikander, Harvey Fierstein, Ralph Ineson, Jason Isaacs, Caitriona Balfe, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Theo James, Harris Dickinson, and—hey!—why not Mark Hamill, too?

But damned if Age of Resistance doesn’t look like a beautiful finished product in this first trailer. It seems our long wait for a prequel to a poorly-received puppet fantasy film from 1982 may have paid off. So that’s weird.
