Now four years since the Panama Papers were leaked, at last something is coming of them. Not any meaningful consequences for the wildly rich people implicated, obviously, but at least we’re getting a new Steven Soderbergh film out of it.
Written by Scott Z. Burns, of Soderbergh’s The Informant! and more recently The Report, the film definitely leans more into the former, turning a tale of corruption into a punchy comic farce. That millionaires aren’t all in jail for this is funny! And for some reason, it’s also kind of funny that David Schwimmer is in this.
This latest Netflix venture arrives with the rest in their big fall release window.
