The latest upcoming action-thriller to involve Frank Grillo and corrupt cops and gangs hunting down a mismatched duo, Black and Blue sees Naomie Harris as an officer who accidentally catches some fellow New Orleans police execute a kid. The bad cops want to get her bodycam footage before she can upload it, so they recruit their criminal cronies to join their manhunt. Harris, meanwhile, recruits humble supermarket proprietor Tyrese. Grillo plays the top dog of the corrupt cops, and Luke Cage’s Mike Coulter co-stars as either the criminal leader or Rick Ross (or both?).
Black and Blue will likely touch on issues of race and the police before just devolving into some gunfights when the film theaters October 25.
