Russo Brothers to play Magic: The Gathering in Netflix’s cafeteria

After helping usher convoluted comic book storylines into the mainstream, Joe and Anthony Russo are once again ready to make dorks wonder, “Wait, but then why was I bullied about this before?”

The Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame are reportedly executive producing and overseeing the story arc on an anime-inspired Magic: The Gathering series for Netflix. The Russos are said to be fans and players of the fantasy card game, and they’ll be assisted by fellow nerds and lead writers Henry Gilroy (Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars: The Clone Wars) and Jose Molina (The Tick, Agent Carter).

Netflix’s series will expand on the story of the Planeswalkers, who this wiki claims are “among the most powerful beings in the multiverse; within the game, they represent the thematic identities of the players.”

It’s still unclear how the iconic character of guy who prays beside Magic: The Gathering players’ ass-cracks will fit in.
