‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ will be a J.J. Abrams affair

Eat your words, everyone who said, “J.J. Abrams will never direct more Star Wars films than Richard Marquand!” Lucasfilm has announced that Abrams will officially replace Colin Trevorrow on the yet-untitled ninth episode of Star Wars. The Force Awakens director will also co-write the film with Oscar-winning Argo and Batman v Superman co-writer Chris Terrio. Get ready for an unfinished but FULLY OPERATIONAL underground planet-destroying gun whatever, everyone.

Oooooh, we could reboot the whole timeline, recast everyone and start over. It’ll be great!

Welp, this is the least exciting possible news. I know it was a long shot, but I was kinda hoping for Sam Raimi.
But deep down, in my soul of souls, I REALLY was hoping for David Lynch…
