Steve Carell heals through doll-play in the Welcome to Marwen trailer

Well, speaking of Robert Zemeckis, here’s the trailer for his latest increasingly-mediocre effort, Welcome to Marwen. Continuing Zemeckis’s Polar Express and Beowulf tradition of turning known actors into disturbing CGI effigies, the film sees Steve Carell as a man using representative dolls to cope with an attack that left him with amnesia. Leslie Mann, Janelle Monáe, Diane Kruger, and Gwendoline Christie are among the stars filling out his discomforting plastic harem. But, hey, it’s based on a true story, so consider Carell’s weird hairpiece inspirational. You can see it in theaters November 21.
