After saving Elton John in Kingsman: The Golden Circle and belting his music out (as a gorilla) in Sing, Taron Egerton is taking the next logical step in his career: just outright being Elton John. Have a look with the first trailer for Rocketman, a film woefully unrelated to the 1997 Harland Williams comedy of the same name. Egerton stars in a John-produced biopic that blends fantasy and reality—which seems apt for the kind of subject who would do a surreal performance dressed as Donald Duck. Directed by Dexter Fletcher—who previous work in goofy-spectacled Egerton and flamboyant singer biopics include Eddie the Eagle and the upcoming Bohemian Rhapsody—the film hits theaters next summer.
