Telemarketing gets surreal in the Sorry To Bother You trailer

Once again inhabited by a white guy to surreal effect, Get Out‘s Lakeith Stanfield stars as a telemarketer climbing the bizarrely glamorous ranks in Sorry To Bother You. Set in an alternate version of present-day Oakland, the comedy is the writing-directing debut of rapper-producer Boots Riley— though the slick fantastical elements he pulls off in this trailer are almost reminiscent of Michel Gondry. Tessa Thompson, Armie Hammer, Steven Yeun, Terry Crews, and Danny Glover co-star, with the familiar, dorky utterances of Patton Oswalt and David Cross cameoing as the “white voices” Stanfield and his fellow telemarketers put on.

Sorry To Bother You hits theaters July 6.
