The Batman says Goodbye to Batfleck, Hello to Battinson

Robert Pattinson has found his latest way to play a brooding creature of the night who, on at least one occasion, has fought a werewolf.

Variety brings word that, with Ben Affleck leaving the cowl behind for The Batman, Robert Pattinson is stepping in to take over the title role. War for/Dawn of The Planet of the Apes’ Matt Reeves is attached to direct from a script it’s said he’s still finishing.

While the most ignorant of geeks have already begun decrying that “the guy from Twilight” will play Bruce Wayne, these people clearly haven’t seen Pattinson’s intense, magnetic performances in the likes of Good Time, High Life, or, well, pretty much anything he’s done since his sparkly vampire days.

We at TV-VCR have repeatedly endorsed the actor to play Joker, but with two Jokers already cackling through the DCEU, sure; may as well instead let Pattinson give us his take on the villain’s arch-nemesis.

Just leave out Taylor Lautner this time.
