Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis is getting a most unlikely movie treatment

Get ready for over an hour of palpable, uninterrupted discomfort. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has already started shooting on a movie adaptation of Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis. It’s said the bizarre talk show’s bizarrely high-profile guest list (remember Obama?) is coming along, too: Peter Dinklage, David Letterman, Keanu Reeves, Ed Helms, and Bradley Cooper are confirmed to be among the stars that will angrily glare at Galifianakis.

As the production is being done in secret, it’s still not clear what form it’s taking. Will it just be a series of loosely stitched interviews? Or will this take the oft-used SNL model, giving a full-blown plot to what was once a brief chat-show sketch, following in the paths of Wayne’s World, Stuart Saves His Family, and The Ladies Man? And if the idea is that he’s on a Pee-wee’s Big Adventure-style search for his missing ferns, why is that definitely the best approach?
