Looks like Party Down will be joining Arrested Development as a prematurely-canceled cult comedy with a belated extra season where you can tell scheduling issues made most everyone shoot at different times.
Starz has reportedly given Party Down a six-episode limited series revival. Creators John Enbom, Rob Thomas, Dan Etheridge, and Paul Rudd are returning as executive producers, with Enbom set as showrunner.
Though the original stars are not yet signed, Thomas said in a statement that they’re determined to make it happen. He also said, “The cast is so busy these days that finding a window where we can do it may require trigonometry,” so you just know it’s going to be a “where are they now?” deal where they’re doing their own things largely separate from each other.
Still! What a lovely, unexpected gift tied with a pink bow. Let’s hope Guttenberg has an opening in his schedule.
