Amazon’s Lord of the Rings gets a premiere date, Thomas Kinkade-y first look

Amazon has announced when they’ll somehow release an even more ridiculously-long adaptation of The Lord of the Rings.

The studio’s series return to Middle-earth will officially hit Amazon Prime September 2, 2022. Above is a first look at how digitally picturesque it will appear.

Despite the title, the series is not a remake of Peter Jackson’s modern classics but a dive into their past, set in a time called the Second Age, thousands of years before Bilbo and Frodo has their little jewelry adventures. Nonetheless, it’s said some familiar characters will be showing up along the way. So Baby Gandalf is the new Baby Yoda?
