Ava DuVernay developing Colin Kaepernick Netflix drama

Early to bring racist police brutality into the spotlight, Colin Kaepernick is now heading even earlier to tell us about his teenage years. The quarterback-turned-activist is reportedly teaming with Netflix and director Ava DuVernay for Colin in Black & White, a six-episode drama focused on the adolescent events that shaped him. Writer Michael Starrbury, who shared an Emmy nomination with DuVernay for their work on When They See Us, is handling the script. And maybe at last we’ll have an answer as to whether a key vanguard in the Black Lives Matter movement was ever into Pokémon.
