Almost Famous meets Midnight in Paris (sort of?) in Beanie Feldstein’s third straight coming-of-age period piece, How To Build a Girl. Feldstein stars as Johana Morrigan, a British teen who lives in a small council estate and also gets advice from noted figures by way of their photos. With ambitions to become a rock critic, she reinvents herself as Dolly Wilde (red hair, Zatanna Zatara cosplay), finding unexpected success and an unexpected Alfie Allen.
How To Build a Girl, which could also work as a thriller about a serial killer assembling a perfect girl from his numerous victims if anyone wants to do that, will be available on-demand May 8.
