Now 15 years since Dwayne Johnson first started talking about playing Black Adam, he’s finally making it to the screen as the comic book villain turned antihero. But if you ever cared: do you still care? Because here’s the first trailer for Black Adam.
Johnson stars in the title role as an ancient Egyptian who is basically just Shazam without the Big part. The two are generally archenemies, but here it seems Adam will be fighting a different foe. That foe? Uh… maybe a gang of space bikers? Whoever it is he’s facing, it seems they’ll force him to team with Justice Society of America members Hawkman, Doctor Fate, Atom Smasher, and Cyclone. Warner Bros. still can’t get a Green Lantern reboot together and seems to have given up on Superman, but don’t worry, folks: Atom Smasher is here!
Black Adam hits theaters October 21.
