Following in the recent deaths of Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, HBO has their own bit of morbidly, disquietingly close timing to offer us. On January 7, just ten days after Reynolds’ passing came just hours after her daughter’s, HBO is set to air an intimate documentary on the mother-daughter duo. Titled Bright Lights, it follows the two in their daily lives, documenting their tight-knit relationship and, though archival footage and home movies, looking back at their shared past. It’s basically Grey Gardens by way of a platonic Behind the Candelabra. See for yourself with this timely first trailer. The full feature airs this Saturday at 8PM.
