After impressing audiences at Telluride over the weekend, Hostiles now has a trailer to show us the mustache that may win Christian Bale another Oscar. The film is a real classic, John Ford-style Western, re-teaming Bale with his Out of the Furnace writer-director Scott Cooper. Bale plays a U.S. Army Captain who in 1892 escorts a Native foe (Wes Studi) and widowed victim (Rosamund Pike) across the wild frontier. Only 1890s kids will get this!
Anyway, while Hostiles is looking like a likely awards contender, its producers haven’t yet locked in a distributor or release date.
