With the first trailer for mother!, writer-director Darren Aronofsky seems to be presenting us with sort of a Rosemary’s B&B. The tense psychological thriller stars Jennifer Lawrence as a woman whose tranquil, remote home life is abruptly interrupted by the arrival of a bunch of people husband Javier Bardem invites over. It starts with unexpected overnight guest Ed Harris; he gets his wife, Michelle Pfeiffer, to join him; soon, those two are grinding all over the furniture, and before Jennifer Lawrence knows it, her whole house is full of weirdoes who would ruin her upholstery. And to make matters worse, some sort of evil, paranormal element seems to have crept in too.
