Donald Glover Is Making a Deadpool Animated Series

Donald Glover is already the title hero’s voice on the animated Ultimate Spider-Man, and he has a part in Spider-Man: Homecoming. He’s also already busy with acting in several other projects and heading up Atlanta, all while continuing his music career on the side. Nonetheless, he’s decided now he’ll somehow find the time and energy to do some more work for Marvel and FX.

Glover and his Atlanta writer/brother Stephen Glover have reportedly made a deal to write, executive produce, and serve as showrunners on an animated FXX series focusing on Marvel’s Deadpool. Like the recent R-rated Deadpool film and its upcoming sequel, the show will be aimed at an adult audience. A writers room is already setup in London, where Glover is currently shooting the Han Solo movie and apparently finding a way to also fit some writing in after that. The first ten-episode season is expected to air in 2018. Then and only then will Donald Glover have a day of rest.
