Dwayne Johnson gets his proportionately larger ‘Die Hard’ with the ‘Skyscraper’ trailer

More than 20 years since Anna Nicole Smith starred in a Die Hard knock-off with the on-the-nose title Skyscraper, now another notably chesty later-career actor is giving it their own shot.

Our new Skyscraper stars ubiquitous action hero Dwayne Johnson as Will Sawyer, a war vet and former FBI agent who, after losing a leg in an explosion, now “assesses security for skyscrapers.” His extremely specific career leads him to China, home of a fast-growing film market and Earth’s new tallest building: The Pearl, a grotesque spire that looks like the World Cup trophy as an animal penis. Naturally, some machine gun-toting terrorists arrive, and only our giant hero can save his wife (Neve Campbell) and children. Per the official synopsis, there’s then also the matter of clearing his name when he somehow gets framed for all this. In terms of tasks Johnson has accomplished in film, it’s honestly pretty run-of-the-mill.

We’ll hopefully find out why this wasn’t titled Rock Hard when Skyscraper hits theaters July 13.
