Though it only days ago resolved its whitewashing of an Asian role, the Hellboy reboot is already back at it with denying a part to a historically underrepresented group: the wretched old crone. According to Deadline, Hemlock Grove‘s Penelope Mitchell has just joined the film as “Ganeida, an elder witch”—the 25-year-old stealing the role from so many talented, hoary hags struggling to get their ghastly, wizened faces out there. The not-at-all decrepit Mitchell joins David Harbour’s Hellboy, Ian McShane’s Professor Broom, and another conspicuously attractive magic lady: Milla Jovovich’s Nimue the Blood Queen.
