There often comes a point in a child’s life where, upon visiting their parents, they come to learn that a parent has now taken up some hobby that they’re suddenly really into. Dad is really into model trains, or Mom has a whole pottery thing going on Etsy, or whatever.
In Concrete Cowboy, Idris Elba is that dad, and his thing is inner-city horsemanship. It’s a real thing! Unfortunately, his thing is also being estranged from a son (Stranger Things‘ Caleb McLaughlin) who’s dabbling in crime. Can father and son reunite through the magic of the urban equine? And seriously, how awful would it be to have a horse roommate?
