Jamie Foxx has finally joined the noble ranks of Blade and Abraham Lincoln: he’s a vampire hunter now. So you’ll see in this first trailer for Day Shift.
The film is Foxx’s Project Power follow-up of being a Netflix thing where he’s doing sort of a fantasy buddy cop thing with a lil’ white guy. This time, Foxx is teamed up with rookie Dave Franco as they go around Los Angeles killing enough vampires to earn the $10,000 that will apparently keep Foxx’s family from moving to Florida. Snoop Dogg is also a prominent character, a final nail in this movie’s vampire coffin heading straight to home video.
Day Shift will try to pull a John Wick in the stuntman-directorial-debut-as-a-surprise-action-hit department when it streams on Netflix August 12.
