Unfortunately not Tim Robinson’s Netflix follow-up, You Should Have Left is the latest on-brand psychological horror-thriller from Blumhouse Productions. Written and directed by David Koepp—and looking right in line with his Stir of Echoes and Secret Window—the film sees Kevin Bacon, Amanda Seyfried, and their young daughter renting an austere home in the Welsh countryside. But it seems the couple’s striking age difference is not the creepiest thing in the place. From the looks of it, Bacon maybe killed some girl a ways back, so now this Kubrickian abode has lured him there to dole out punishment. This is why you should always inspect your short-term getaway rentals for hidden cameras and impossible architecture.
You Should Have Left will ask whether you should have on-demanded a Kevin Bacon thriller June 19.
