Borderlands is a game series that’s painfully loud and constantly straining to be funny. So, for the movie adaptation, Eli Roth has wisely added Kevin Hart to his cast.
According to The Wrap, Hart has joined the long-developing film as Roland, a soldier that’s, strangely, one of the game’s less obnoxiously ever-shouting characters. “[It will be] a different kind of role for him, and we are excited to thrill audiences with a side of Kevin they’ve never seen before,” Roth said in a statement.
Cate Blanchett has already been cast as Lilith, which also tracks given that, in-game, it makes no sense that the vastly more impressive and nearly unequalled Lilith needs to run around with the likes of Roland.
