Max von Sydow, famous for playing chess against death in The Seventh Seal, has at last been led off in his Danse Macabre. The legendary Swedish actor died Sunday at age 90.
Over his eclectic 70 year career, von Sydow appeared in over 100 motion picture and television roles, ranging from esteemed foreign art house films to the goofiest genre pictures. There was little the actor couldn’t do, and he will be remembered and long missed as an inimitable icon.
In brighter news, at least now we’ll probably be seeing a bit more Christopher Plummer.
