The most pointedly on-the-nose UK answer to 2017’s Going in Style remake, The King of Thieves sees Michael Caine once again pulling off a heist led by entirely old-boys. Built to make a good impressions sequence for a new The Trip sequel, Caine is joined by Ray Winstone, Jim Broadbent, Michael Gambon, Tom Courtenay, and Daredevil‘s Charlie Cox. The Theory of Everything‘s James Marsh directs. We’ll see how King of Thieves stacks up against The Old Man and the Gun in the “based on a true story elderly man robbery” genre when it hits theaters later this year.
