Mike Myers to play 7 new characters in what’s more or less a So I Married an Axe Murderer spinoff

Mike Myers is back (to endlessly cannibalizing the slim portfolio of ideas he came up with in the mid-’80s)!

The Austin Powers star is set to play seven new characters in The Pentaverate, a six-episode comedy headed to Netflix. The series will reportedly focus on a Canadian journalist’s investigation into “five men [who] have been working to influence world events for the greater good since the Black Plague of 1347.” If it sounds familiar—particularly in the voice of Shrek—it’s because Myers already dove into the so-called Pantaverate with a rant in 1993’s So I Married an Axe Murderer.

Helping Myers dig up this ancient, decades-old myth will be Ken Jeong, Keegan-Michael Key, Richard McCabe, Jennifer Saunders, Lydia West, and SIMaAM’s own Debi Mazar. They’ve just been announced as the ensemble that will join Myers in reminding everyone that he should probably be retroactively canceled for The Love Guru.
