Well, Neill Blomkamp still hasn’t got to make his long-rumored Aliens sequel, but it seems he’s nonetheless found a way to pursue his dream of Aliens-derivative imagery and Sigourney Weaver as a militant bad-ass. The filmmaker has just release this trailer for the first volume of his Oats Studios, a project he’s set up to make “experimental short films.” And, as seen above, by “experimental,” he seems to mean “extremely similar to his prior, gritty-looking, unsubtly socio-political sci-fi action movies, but now with more deliberate nods to the likes of Aliens and Predator.”
