Pull Excalibur from the Classic Rock in the New ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’ Trailer

Following in the A Knight’s Tale tradition of blending medieval adventure and anachronistic classic rock, the new, Led Zeppelin-heavy trailer for King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is here. Guy Ritchie’s return to his proven Sherlock Holmes formula of well-known characters + Jude Law + oppressive greyness + sinewy, shirtless fisticuffs, the film sees Pacific Rim‘s Charlie Hunnam in the title role and Djimon Hounsou playing his loyal Knight of the Round, Sir Bedivere. Law stars opposite as Arthur’s villainous uncle, holding his grip on the throne with the same tenacity that Law grasps at his retreating strands of widow’s peak. Though this preview doesn’t really make it out to be, hopefully this thing will be as fun if not less dismissed than Ritchie’s prior effort, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. We’ll find out when the film hits theaters May 12.
