We’ve found another man to make a fool of himself pretending he’s a video game, and this time it’s Oscar Isaac.
It’s apparently his turn to do one of these things, and the actor has reportedly signed on to star in Sony’s adaptation of Metal Gear Solid. He’ll play Solid Snake, a special ops soldier tasked with sneaking around and hiding in cardboard boxes to neutralize a nuclear threat. Jordan Vogt-Roberts is set to direct from a script by his Kong: Skull Island writer Derek Connolly.
Given Isaac’s packed schedule, it’s unclear just when Metal Gear Solid will join the likes of Prince of Persia, Assassin’s Creed, Tomb Raider, and the upcoming Uncharted in squandering a talented lead on a sub-mediocre video game movie that’s completely forgotten in six months.
