Now that Rian Johnson has shown some execs that lighthearted ensemble murder mysteries can be cool again, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are taking their own deadly comedy to Apple TV+.
According to Variety, the consistently infallible duo have won a straight-to-series order for their latest comedy series, The Afterparty. Set at a high school reunion afterparty, each episode will recount the night from the perspective of another character—each perspective sporting a unique look and genre suited to the storyteller. Miller created the series and will serve as showrunner, with both he and Lord executive producing. Sounds dope.
