Thanks to recent films like The Book of Life, Spectre, and Batman v Superman, Día de los Muertos has quickly risen to become the Mexican imagery Americans most know outside of menu items. And now, joining those films in broadening our perspective in just this extremely narrow, colorfully morbid way is Disney•Pixar’s latest animated effort, Coco. The film centers on a boy and his hairless dog as they travel to the Land of the Dead by way of a dead ’50s musical idol’s magic guitar. It makes more sense if you just watch the trailer. The full film hits theaters November 22.
