The latest trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Tenet closes on the reveal that, at Robert Pattinson guy’s dramatic request, a 747 is crashed into a building.
Now, speaking to Total Film, Nolan has revealed the trick behind it that VFX houses HATE: he simply crashed an actual 747 into a building.
“I planned to do it using miniatures and set-piece builds and a combination of visual effects and all the rest,” Nolan explained. “We started to run the numbers… It became apparent that it would actually be more efficient to buy a real plane of the real size, and perform this sequence for real in camera, rather than build miniatures.”
So continues Nolan’s controversial Truther theory that 9/11 was entirely about the al-Qaeda’s thrift.
