We were big fans of 2018’s Halloween, loving how director David Gordon Green gleefully clung to genre tropes to give us not some elevated re-invention but exactly the revisionist direct sequel 1978’s Halloween deserved. The trailer for Green’s follow-up, Halloween Kills, looks to pick up where his last film left off in more ways than one—which is perfect. It seems there will be a rescue saw to the brain in the first act, and it’s hard to complain about that. Very exciting to see this again be exactly what it should be. Italian chef kisses all the way.
