Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell anime coming from John Wick‘s Derek Kolstad

The classic tale of the gun man in the triclops night vision goggles is headed to Netflix.

According to Variety, the streaming giant is teaming with video game publisher Ubisoft for an anime adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell.

Assuming it follows the games, the series will follow former US Navy SEAL Sam Fisher on his clandestine black ops missions for the NSA’s Third Echelon division. He looks exactly like every other stoic, stubbly AAA console game lead of the 2000s, except he has his little green glowy glasses.

John Wick franchise writer Derek Kolstad, being well-versed in writing for a dude sneaking around murdering other dudes, is scripting and executive producing. Though Tom Hardy was attached to star in a Splinter Cell live-action take for the better part of a decade, it’s said that project is dead and Hardy will not voice Fisher. Hardy will, however, continue to do some sort of fucking voice in just about every other role.
