Twisted Metal series to give us another evil clown man

At the painfully edgy nexus between the new Mortal Kombat movie and our new gamer Joker has emerged a Twisted Metal television series.

Giving us both another violent ’90s video game adaptation and another over-the-top killer clown, Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions are making a live-action action-comedy show about the vehicular combat game franchise. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick—the writers behind Deadpool, Zombieland, and the upcoming Watch Dogs—are making this their latest thing about comical bloodshed and video games.

Per Variety, “The show is about a motor-mouthed outsider who is offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a trigger-happy car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown named who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck, whom fans of the game will know as Sweet Tooth.”

Carmageddon envisioned as a Death Race 2000 successor with franchise potential soon to come!
