Watch the very bloody, very intense trailer for the TIFF hit Revenge

Lurid, grindhouse-style vengeance from a would-be murdered woman, but served in a far more contained package than Kill Bill, Revenge takes its bloody exploitation to a remote vacation home deep in the desert. An unknowing mistress is brutally raped and shoved off a cliff by a trio of men—one of them her rich boyfriend—who leave her for dead. She’s not, though, and she’s quickly out for, yes, revenge. The film is the feature debut of French writer-director Coralie Fargeat, and its TIFF Midnight Madness premiere was intense enough that paramedics had to be called for one audience member. The rest of us will get a ride in an ambulance when Revenge hits theaters and on-demand May 11.
