Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams bring the Icelandic pop in the Eurovision Song Contest trailer

Twelve years since taking us to the pinnacle of musical comedy at the Catalina Wine Mixer, Will Ferrell is belting it out for laughs again in Netflix’s Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga. Make no mistake, though: this is less Step Brothers than it is Blades of Glory—another competition story skating by on goofy wigs, garish costumes, and contempt for its own subject matter. Ferrell and Rachel McAdams star as Icelandic would-be pop stars hoping to take the top prize at the titular event. From the looks of it, their arc sees the duo begin as being overly-theatrical and reviled, but then later ascend to being overly-theatrical and bad in an indistinguishably different way that will see them win? The perspective seems confused. Anyway, Dan Stevens and Demi Lovato play their rivals, with Pierce Brosnan as the father whose respect needs to be earned.

Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga hits Netflix June 26.
