Zack Snyder’s Justice League money pit grows to $70 million

Justice League, a dumb movie that already came out three years ago, has now grown into a $70 money pit.

According to The Wrap, Zack Snyder’s superhero passion project’s budget has ballooned to more than twice its early estimates. While Snyder originally only asked for $20-30 million for mostly new visual effects, he’s reportedly since decided he needs to bring Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, and Ray Fisher back in for another $40-50 million of pricey new footage to fill out his four-hour series. And since HBO Max has already started promoting this thing, he kinda had their feet to the fire on that. If nothing else, gotta respect Snyder’s game on this one. His dumbass vision will be realized.

As a reminder, Warner Bros. already dumped $25 million into Superman’s mustache erasure alone. This is definitely either the dorkiest cash sinkhole ever or a strangely high-profile money laundering scheme. Just how much cash has entered the US through Cavill’s philtrum?
