There’s another Marvel movie where there’s a bunch of copies of a guy pasted into a placeless, nebulous CGI space! Have a look: it’s the new trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
This time it’s Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) going after Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang. He thinks Lang “interesting” for being both an Avenger and a father, which, sure? Having a kid isn’t honestly all that interesting—but it does seem to be central to the baddie’s big plan. He’s offering to use whatever time-traveling Quantum Realm mumbo-jumbo to give Scott back all the daddy-daughter time he missed when himself stuck in the Quantum Realm. But there’s a catch! And there are spaceships. And original Ant-Man villain Corey Stoll is back—and now he’s become MODOK, the classic Marvel villain known for looking wonderfully stupid as a giant, boxed head with lil’ limbs coming off.
It’s clear this is our shrinking heroes’ biggest, most MCU-changing, least tangible-looking effort yet.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quanumania hits theaters February 17.
