Christoph Waltz and others join Wes Anderson’s latest

Christoph Waltz is headed back to France, and good news: this time it’s not to eliminate the Jews!

According to French outlet Charente Libre (via The Playlist), Waltz has joined the cast of The French Dispatch, the tenth film from writer-director Wes Anderson. Death of Stalin‘s Rupert Friend and The End of the Fucking World’s Alex Lawther have reportedly also joined the film’s massive, stacked cast, which also includes Timothée Chalamet, Frances McDormand, Jeffrey Wright, Benicio del Toro, Léa Seydoux, Tilda Swinton, Saoirse Ronan, Kate Winslet, Willem Dafoe, Adrien Brody, Bob Balaban, Jason Schwartzman, Henry Winkler, Bob Balaban, Griffin Dunne, Mathieu Amalric, and yes, Bill Murray. It’s noted, though, that both Waltz and Murray only shot smaller parts.

Speaking to the paper, Anderson also described the premise of his film, saying (translated from French), “An American journalist based in France creates his magazine. It is more a portrait of this man, of this journalist who fights to write what he wants to write. It’s not a movie about freedom of the press, but when you talk about reporters you also talk about what’s going on in the real world.”

“I never know but I feel [the film] could be ready before the end of the year,” he added. In the meantime, we’ll just have to see France through the eyes of everyone on social media suddenly posting their old Notre Dame vacation photos.
