The insatiable maw of 2022 has claimed another beloved celebrity soul, and we are another Dirty Worker down.
Today Bob Saget, America’s Dad, died at the too-young age of 65 after being found unresponsive in his Orlando hotel room. No cause of death has yet been announced.
Known primarily for his achingly wholesome efforts fronting saccharine TGIF sitcom Full House and the initial seasons of America’s Funniest Home Videos, Bob was a well-liked, pathologically foul-mouthed comic first. Sure, the man who played Danny Tanner boasted a CV that included directing buddy Norm Macdonald’s cult favorite Dirty Work, narrating How I Met Your Mother, and collaborating on Jamie Kennedy’s rap song “Rollin’ with Saget,” but at his heart, Saget was just a dad who never met a corny joke about incest he didn’t like.
Goodnight, Bob.
And watch your ass, Artie Lange.
