Ridley Scott and some noted Boston chums are teaming up for The Last Duel

The careers of Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Ridley Scott are coming full circle: thee Good Will Hunting guys are back to writing and starring in a joint project, and Ridley Scott is back to being really into duels.

According to Deadline, Scott is set to direct Damon and Affleck in The Last Duel from a script those Beantown boys wrote themselves—along with Nicole Holofcener—based on the 2004 historical novel by Eric Jager (itself based on a true story).

The film will see one of the stars of Dogma as Norman knight Jean de Carrouges; the other will play his former squire, Jacques Le Gris. De Carrouges returns from war in Scotland to find his wife accusing Le Gris of raping her. Le Gris’ local trial ends in his favor, so de Carrouges takes it to the King, who hands down the decision to just go ahead and duel over it.

About time the tale of a woman not being believed about rape be told entirely from the men’s perspective, huh?
