Marvel-ers Sebastian Stan, Samuel L. Jackson, and William Hurt are out to get some recognition for a different type of hero. A REAL AMERICAN HERO. He’s basically Forrest Gump, but not a cartoon of mental disability.
Written and directed by Todd Robinson—of David Duchovny-Ed Harris submarine thriller Phantom fame!—The Last Full Measure sees Stan as a Pentagon staffer confronted with dilemma involving the Medal of Honor. Airman William “Pits” Pitsenbarger flew on almost 300 rescue missions in Vietnam, and his old war buddies want him to posthumously receive the award. But as Stan investigates the case, somehow it becomes a thrilling political conspiracy.
Given that his thing has been on the shelf since 2017, it probably isn’t actually all that thrilling a political conspiracy, but we’ll find out when it’s unceremoniously awarded its January release.
