Sir Matt Damon wants vengeance on alleged sex criminal Adam Driver in Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel teaser

Ridley Scott’s third historical drama about some dudes dueling each other and the latest collab between Beantown boys Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are, oddly, the same movie. Have a look with the trailer for The Last Duel.

Co-written by the Good Will Hunting Oscar-winners and Oscar-nominated Can You Ever Forgive Me? writer Nicole Holofcener, the film tells the true story of France’s final judicial duel. Sir Jean de Carrouges (Damon) returns from a campaign in Scotland to find wife Marguerite (Jodie Comer) distraught that, in his absence, she was raped by squire Jacques Le Gris (Adam Driver). It goes to trial, and the he-said-she-said results in Le Gris getting off free. Carrouges is rightly not happy about it, and the dispute moves on to the 14th century version of civil court: dueling to the death.

Pretty rough stuff! But, hey, check out those goofy old haircuts!

The dramatic ending has unfortunately already been spoiled by written history, but if you’d like to see the Martian recreate it with a mullet, The Last Duel hits theaters October 15.
